About RVer's Notebook

RVer’s Notebook was developed by, and was the brainchild and passion of, Mickey Ivey. First released in early 2004, the program has evolved tremendously from the first beta version, to become a highly successful tool for many RVer’s.  It is such a useful method of maintaining records for one’s recreational vehicle, tow or towed vehicle, and the travels made.  With thousands of copies sold and in the hands of RVer’s across America and Canada, it has become a valuable, reliable software tool for savvy record-keepers.

Mickey passed away very unexpectedly in November, 2006.  Because of his untimely passing, his family is determined to uphold and maintain his legacy of dedicated customer support of RVer’s Notebook.  As in the past, any updates will continue to be free of charge.  We welcome our Users’ requests and suggestions for future updated versions.

Below is the “About” that was written by Mickey, himself:

About the Program

RVer’s Notebook was designed and built out of a need to keep all the information pertaining to my recreational vehicle in one easy and accessible place. Keeping the information in a paper form or in a spread sheet was cumbersome and hard to manage. I also knew when it came time to sell my RV I would want to provide the new owners with  complete service records as well as the gas mileage performance among other things. I can do this with the RVer’s Notebook by printing the appropriate history reports.

When I rejoined the RV world in 2003 (first time was in the 60’s), I signed up to several forums on the Internet to learn as much about RVs as I could. I quickly found out that there are a lot of people out there with considerable knowledge and very willing to help on just about any subject pertaining to RVs. Several of the topics often discussed on the forum are weights and tires. Both are very important issues when it comes to ride comfort and safety. All RVs whether motor homes, 5th wheels or trailers are affected by the owners understanding of the proper maintenance of weight and tires. The program deals with this subject in depth by providing a visual and written analysis of problems and suggested corrections to conform to the law and to safe RVing. *

My intent when I first began writing the program was to support the needs of a fulltime RVer as it deals with record keeping and the like. As the program evolved, I realized that all owners of a recreational vehicle could find a benefit. It’s easy to keep track of where you’ve been, where you stayed and how much you spent and what you spent it on. You can keep up with all the people you met along the way. You can even write a journal about your travels and cover as many details as you like, including pictures.

I will continue to add features to the program based on users input. If you would like to make a recommendation for improvements, suggestions or comments you can contact me by clicking on the email button above.

Until then, I hope to see you on the road.

    Mickey Ivey
